BRISBANE LOCALE HONEY

Crafted near home; a sweet treasure from Brisbane

Brisbane Locale Honey is a silky blend of floral and bush honeys, lovingly gathered by small family and hobby beekeepers across the greater Brisbane region.

This artisan honey captures the vibrant aroma and unique flavors of Queensland’s subtropical flora, bringing a burst of local sunshine to every spoonful.

375g jars are glass and have their lids taped for safe transportation. When buying products in glass jars, our team will carefully seal your honey jar lids with tape and package accordingly before they leave our warehouse. Unfortunately, we cannot prevent leakages caused during transit time and as such, we cannot replace or provide refund for these items. We appreciate your understanding.

Brisbane Local Honey

Brisbane Locale is one of our most popular honeys. Just like our other honeys, this premium honey is additive-free, gently sieved, and pure real honey.

Pure raw honey naturally contains tiny particles of pollen. If you suffer seasonal allergies and hay fever, enjoying local honey as part of your daily diet can help alleviate the symptoms.

Flavour and Texture

The colour, fragrance, and taste of this Brisbane Locale Honey vary from season to season (and within seasons) depending on what the Brisbane gardens and native bushland provide to harvesting bees.

Through spring, summer, autumn, and winter, every jar or bottle you buy will be filled with golden pure raw honey, medium sweet, with a hint of citrus orchards, native bush berries, eucalypt blossom, clover, or backyard garden. We guarantee that every jar will be delicious!

As a multi-floral honey, Brisbane Locale has a variable crystallisation timeline. If you find your honey has crystallised, gently warming it by standing the bottle in a bowl of warm water or leaving it in a sunny windowsill will melt the crystals and reverse the process.

Honey on PancakesWays to enjoy Brisbane Locale Honey

Brisbane Locale is a perfect everyday honey, ideal for use in drinks, as a topping, and as a marinade and salad dressing ingredient. This One Pan Honey Soy Chicken & Rice recipe is a quick and easy midweek meal to try.

We recommend enjoying it drizzled on hot toasted crumpets and pancakes with morning tea, taken outdoors in a garden filled with flowers – or blended into a summer cocktail by the pool!

You can try Brisbane Locale Honey in our new Simply Honey Taster Pack and as part of our Honey Lovers Pack.

100% pure, raw, Australian honey, naturally produced by bees and brought to you by Australian Beekeepers.

Please note:

Due to legislation in Western Australia, Northern Territory, Norfolk Island and Kangaroo Island, we are unable to deliver AB’s Honey products to these areas.

Storage Instructions

Best Before Date:
The 'best before' date on our packaging is a legal requirement. However, when stored correctly in an airtight, food-grade container, honey can last for thousands of years just like the honey found in ancient pyramids that is still edible today.

Crystallization:
It is normal for real honey to crystallize over time. This is a sign of its purity. To return your honey to its liquid state, simply place the sealed jar in a bowl of warm water until the crystals dissolve. We do not recommend using a microwave, as high heat can destroy the honey's natural enzymes and antioxidants.

Storage:
For optimal freshness, store your honey in a cool, dark place like your pantry. Storing it in the fridge can accelerate the natural crystallization process. Our honey is not pasteurized, which means it retains all of its beneficial properties, unlike many supermarket honeies that are heated to prevent crystallization.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    Is your honey organic ?

Our honey is 100% pure, natural Australian honey with nothing added. It is sourced from ethical and responsible Australian Beekeepers, with hives sited in Australia’s bush, forests, hinterlands, and coastal regions.

Bees can forage up to 5km from their hives in search of the best nectar for their honey. Although our honey is not certified organic, it is as pure, raw, and free from environmental contamination as can be.

    Is your honey pasteurised ?

No. AB’s Honey is 100% pure and raw. It is only gently filtered to remove any hive debris, such as wax and flower particles.

Pasteurisation requires heating the honey to high temperatures. This can remove much of the natural goodness. If required, our honey is only ever gently warmed to the temperature of a summer’s day to allow it to flow smoothly into jars and bottles.

When will I recieve my delivery ?

We dispatch orders received by 12pm Queensland time on the same business day. Orders received after this time will be dispatched the next available business day. Our preferred delivery service providers are Australia Post and Aramex Couriers. If you have a preference for Australia Post or Aramex, please let us know in the notes section of the checkout and we will endeavour to accommodate.

Once your order leaves our premises, it is in the hands of the delivery service. Depending upon where you are located, you can expect your parcel to arrive within 2 to 3 business days, or within seven working days to regional areas. During busy periods like Christmas or in times of high demand on the courier/postal services, delays in delivery can occur. Natural disasters, for example flooding or bushfires, may cause delays that are out of our or the couriers’ control.

If you are in a hurry to receive your honey or bee product, we also offer an Express Post delivery service. Please refer to the postage question above for further Express Post information.

How should I store my honey ?

If you have bought real honey from us then the best place to store your honey is in your pantry. Keeping real honey in the fridge can accelerate the process of crystallisation, which you may or may not want.

Australian Beekeeper’s Honey does not undergo any pasteurisation treatment, unlike many of the honey products available at the supermarket. Pasteurisation of honey occurs when honey is heated to a really high temperature. Pasteurised honey doesn’t crystalise in cooler climates or in the fridge but unfortunately pasteurisation also destroys the antioxidants in honey and reduces the honey enzymes.
